The Farnborough International Airshow 2024 will help shape the future of the global aerospace industry, CEO Gareth Rogers said, as the countdown to the show reached the 80-day mark.
Global leaders, including Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, RTX, GKN and GE Aviation, will be exhibiting their latest aircraft, innovations and technology at the event, which runs 22-26 July.
Speaking to FINN, Rogers said: “2024 is the first time the show has been sold out for over a decade. The fact that there is so much interest in the show is wonderful, and that is expected to lead to a great growth in numbers.
“The Farnborough International Airshow 2022 was very much a celebration that we have come out of COVID. That was about bringing the industry as a whole back to operating at the levels they were pre-COVID.
“This show will be about the future of the industry. There will also be a defence focus given the geopolitical situation.”
The 2024 event will see the return of the award-winning Aerospace Global Forum (AGF), the global platform that aims to champion change and drive immediate action, accelerating transition to the net-zero economy.
Other features of the five-day airshow will include the Space Zone showcasing the newest technology and launch operators in the market, Business Connections Exchange programme matching buyers and investors with vetted suppliers, and the networking Business Lounge sponsored by Lockheed Martin.
Rogers added: “In terms of physical features, the Government Hub will be another great addition this year. That will be a physical manifestation of the UK government, giving them a greater presence. But also, much more access to the show, both for the government and also for the show to access the government.
“We are really looking forward to bringing people together to do business, to talk about themselves, to amplify their message in what hopefully will be a great festival in July.”
