Day two at the Paris Airshow and it’s been a busy order day for Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
International aircraft leasing company Avolon has joined Embraer’s E2 programme with the sale and leaseback of 10 E195-E2s for Porter Airlines. The new aircraft will support Porter’s expansion of routes within Canada and further into the North American market. The deal also marks the first of Embraer’s advanced new E2 aircraft to join Avolon’s fleet.
Azorra has also placed an order for the E195-E2 type. The lessor has ordered 15 of the jets valued at US$1.2 billion, and Binter, the airline of the Canary Islands, has placed a firm order for six Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
Rodolfo Núñez President of Binter, said: “The E2 has been a game changer for Binter. Our guests love the aircraft, especially how quiet it is. Performance in terms of Fuel burn and maintenance has also been better than advertised. As we continue to grow, the E2 has proved to be the perfect aircraft to lead our continued growth.”
It was also announced today that Recaro Aircraft Seating will develop a Supplier Furnished Equipment catalogue of seats for E1 and E2 aircraft. The SFE catalogue will include the bestselling BL3710 and SL3710 economy class seats, and will be available for linefit and retrofit configurations.
