As the Yocova platform and community continue to grow and evolve, we’re always looking for new ways to enhance user experience and make it easier for our members to find and access the innovative solutions and services available on the platform. We’ve listened to feedback from our members and have made some new exciting changes to the platform with Release 49.
The biggest changes under this release are some fantastic enhancements to Tags, which will benefit every Yocova member and make it significantly easier to identify matters of interest, groups and events. It will also be much easier to identify solutions and services on the Marketplace, which will benefit both procurement teams and vendors. We’ve also made additional enhancements to the platform, read on to find out more!
Changes to the Tags details page
In our recently added ‘Explore’ page, we’ve now added a new tab called ‘Tags’, which can be found at the top of the menu on the left-hand-side of the page. Here you can find all relevant tag information such as Solutions, Events or Groups. We’ve also made it possible for you to follow or unfollow a tag. To follow a new tag, simply select ‘Follow’.
How does the new tag functionality benefit individual members?
As an individual, the main way that tags will directly benefit you is by having control over your interests. To take a look at this new functionality, go to your profile and look at the section called Interests. You can choose to select all and then browse through your interests. When you click on one, you’ll be taken through to the tags details page.
When you arrive at the tags detail page, you’ll notice at the top of the page, the tag set name. If you click on that, you’ll be able to see all the tags that are a member of that tag set. Alternatively click on the three dots and select ‘View tag set’.
When you choose to follow a tag, all posts relating to this tag will show on your chatter feed. Don’t worry, you’ll not be inundated with email alerts or notification bells, following a tag will just serve to make your chatter feed more relevant to your interests.
How do I find out which tags I am following?
Finding the tags you’re following has also become much easier. Simply go into ‘Explore’ and click on ‘Tags’ at the top of the menu on the left-hand side of the page. Select ‘Explore all tags’ and you can see here the tags you are following by selecting ‘Following’.
Alternatively, if you’d like to see tags you’re not following, perhaps consider whether some new ones might be of interest to you then deselect ‘Following’.
The benefits of tags for potential buyers
If you’re looking to purchase new solutions or services, the new tag functionality will prove very useful to help you filter through the Marketplace, narrow down options and find relevant solutions for you. Here’s how:
Go to the ‘Explore’ page and you’ll see ‘Featured Tags’ listed. Just click on this and you’ll be taken through to the tag details page. Then you’ll see a ‘Suggested for you’ tab which will highlight solutions for you for one of the following reasons:
- Because you are following a company
- Because your company already uses a particular or relevant solution
- Because you’re already a member of a relevant group
- Because you attended a relevant event
When you click on to any of these suggestions, you’ll be taken to a page showing other solutions relevant to that suggestion, and here you can apply filters to narrow down Marketplace solution options to suit your needs or interests.
How can vendors make the most of tags?
Tags are an important tool for vendors to use to define solutions and services by ensuring relevant tags are attached to them, linking them to appropriate themes and in turn attracting interest from prospective buyers.
A note for vendors on the use of tags
If you’re a vendor, think carefully about the tags you attach to your solution or service. Since tags will draw an audience or prospective buyer, you may be tempted to attach multiple tags to it to reach more buyers. Of course, you can attach multiple tags, but pay attention to what they are. If they’re not relevant, they may dilute the attraction to the more relevant tags. It’s also important to think about the Yocova Community as a whole when assigning tags. Tags are an important part of the evolution of Yocova, and if used correctly, have the power to benefit every user and business on the platform.
Other platform enhancements
We’ve made a few other small enhancements to the platform under this release to improve usability, including:
Active Groups in the ‘Explore’ section
In ‘Explore’ you can now see a clickable section called ‘Active Groups’. This is the top eight most active groups on Yocova right now. So, if you’re interested to see who’s getting together and talking, and what recent hot topics are, then click on these to get involved.
New contact status
If a user has signed up but not yet agreed to terms and conditions then their status will now show up as pending in the contact status.
A small update to reset password
Following the changes on our last release where we introduced a handy checklist of criteria required to reset your password, we received feedback that it was not clear that some special characters were not accepted. Please note that we have now updated the functionality so that all special characters are accepted to reset a password, making things much simpler for password managers.
We’re always on the lookout for ways to improve Yocova, if you have any feedback you would like to share on this release or anything else to say about the platform, please email: support@yocova.com
